Football, Champagne and foot rubs

Champagne at the Sheraton

Sunday saw another game for the staff footy team. A bruising game was won 5-4, helped by two goals from myself. There are no photos of that though because the 'fans' were too busy getting down to the Sheraton for a champagne brunch. The conquering hero's joined them later though and we all indulged ourselves. Great food - actually, wonderful food - and lashings of Moet. To top off the day we went to have foot massages afterwards - I think this is the lifestyle I was born to lead!

Book Week 2005

Book week saw lots of activities, culminating in the Character Parade.

Aytun and Ozlem - two Turks!

We went to our favourite restaurant for Aytun's birthday with a big group of people, went next door to a bar for drinks and then went to a club near home for cocktails and tequila. A top night was had, followed by a lazy Sunday, and it was great to celebrate the first Chinese birthday for one of us.

Shanghai

The huge and mental Pearl Tower, a symbol of modern Shanghai

Went to Shanghai last Saturday - caught the train - and met up with a friend of Aytuns. A great day was had - it's big and busy and kind of reminded me of Istanbul.

Highlights - a woman brandishing a calculator at me in a market and saying "best price, best price" - what for I have no idea, she could have been selling the calculator, herself, her dog!

Some street boys had been paid to hand out flyers, they were quite taken with Aytun and pestered us a bit and gave me loads of flyers. I then amused them greatly by joining in with the handing out of flyers - people were surprised into accepting them!

Wandering along the Bund and looking at the crazy syline - think the bosphorus with crazy big skyscrapers and old colonial buildings. Awesome and neon everywhere.

We then got a ferry across the river and the woman in the litle shop rtied to refuse to sell me a beer, but I was beligerent and annoying than her and she was unable to ignore me for ever. I won and got my beer.

Got the tube back across town - very good and quick. And then we got the train home, all in all a super day.

Will be going back soon.

Football Sunday

Played our first game of the year and won 4-1 against Bosch. I scored the first and set up the 4th. A top time was had by all. First of many games, and many wins, hopefully!
